Painting Hands - Inspired By J S Sargent
In this live class, we’ll focus on painting hands, drawing inspiration from Sargent’s work. Why Sargent, of all artists? Because I’m captivated by the way he simplifies the complexity of hands. He conveys them with just a few brushstrokes, using the right tones and colors in precisely the right places. We’ll begin the course by analyzing some of his hand studies and breaking down his technique. Then, we’ll move on to painting hands in oil (or acrylic), applying that understanding to our own work.
