Welcome to this short intro course on Atmospheric Portraiture with Glazing!

Have you ever tried to merge elements from the background with your portraits, only to find it hard to create a seamless transition? Or wondered how certain artists achieve skin that’s soft and rich in depth without looking flat?

In this two-part series, I’ll break down the process behind creating layered portraits and show you how to use glazes to add depth and soften transitions between the background and the subject, just like in my own work.

We’ll combine traditional techniques with mixed media to give you a contemporary twist on portraiture. By the end of both sessions, you’ll understand how to work in transparent layers to create smooth, blended effects and real dimension in your art.
